About the Embassy of Canada to Saudi Arabia
The Canadian Embassy in Riyadh is Canada’s resident diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia.
The embassy supports Canada’s political, economic, security and commercial relationship with Saudi Arabia and provides Government of Canada services and consular assistance to Canadians in the region.
The mission is headed by Jean-Philippe Linteau, Ambassador of Canada to Saudi Arabia and Yemen and Ambassador to Bahrain and Oman.

Services at the Canadian Embassy in Riyadh
The embassy provides passport, citizenship, notarial and other consular services for Canadian citizens.
Passport services
Canadian passport applications can be presented in person by appointment. Applicants can also send their documents to the embassy by courier when an earlier appointment is not available.
Citizenship services
Applicants who are required to submit a paper application for proof of Canadian citizenship can mail the application to the embassy’s Consular Section.
Notarial services
The embassy provides selected notarial services, including certified copies, signature authentication, statutory declarations and certain document authentication services.
Saudi visa transfer letters
The embassy can provide a facilitation letter for transferring Saudi visa information from an old Canadian passport to a new passport.
Emergency assistance
Canadian citizens requiring urgent help can contact the embassy during business hours. Emergency consular assistance is available 24 hours a day through Canada’s Emergency Watch and Response Centre.
Visa and immigration
Applications to visit, study, work or immigrate to Canada are handled through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and its official application channels.

Consular services are currently available by appointment Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Passport appointments
Passport services are currently available by appointment Sunday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Passport services are closed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Notarial appointments
Notarial services are currently available by appointment on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The Embassy of Canada in Riyadh accepts Canadian passport applications in person by appointment and can also accept applications sent by courier.

Book an appointment to present your passport application documents in person. Passport appointments are currently available Sunday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Send by courier
If an earlier appointment is not available, the embassy advises applicants to consider sending their complete passport documents by courier to the Consular Section in Riyadh.
Processing time: The standard processing time for a complete passport application submitted abroad is currently 20 business days, not including delivery time.
Passport collection: Passport pick-up is currently available Sunday through Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
