About the Embassy of Canada to Finland

The Canadian Embassy in Helsinki is Canada’s resident diplomatic mission in Finland. It supports the bilateral relationship between Canada and Finland and provides Government of Canada services to Canadian citizens visiting or living in the country.

The embassy also supports Canada’s commercial, political and international engagement with Finland.

Passport services

Canadian citizens can apply for passport services through the embassy. Applications may be mailed to the consular section or presented in person by appointment.

Citizenship services

Eligible paper applications for Canadian citizenship certificates can be mailed to the embassy or deposited in the Consular Services drop box outside the embassy entrance during published weekday hours.

Notarial services

The embassy provides selected notarial services by mail or appointment when an equivalent service is not reasonably available from a local Finnish notary public.

Canadian citizens planning to marry in Finland may require a declaration on civil status and a Statement in lieu of Certificate of Non-impediment to Marriage Abroad from the embassy.
