About the Mali Embassy in Ottawa

The Embassy of the Republic of Mali in Ottawa is Mali’s resident diplomatic mission in Canada.

Canada and Mali established diplomatic relations in 1969, and Mali opened its resident diplomatic mission in Ottawa in 1978.

Additional documents apply in certain circumstances. Married applicants wishing to add a spouse’s family name must provide a marriage certificate, minors require parental authorisation, and applicants replacing a lost or stolen biometric passport must provide a police loss report.

Applicants living outside the Ottawa-Gatineau area can provide a prepaid trackable return envelope for delivery of the completed passport.

Applicants must use the official online platform for Mali’s diplomatic missions and consular posts. The Embassy warns applicants against using unofficial visa websites.

The current Ottawa instructions require a passport or equivalent travel document valid for at least six months, a digital passport photograph and supporting evidence appropriate to the purpose and circumstances of the visit.

The published requirements also include a copy of a yellow-fever vaccination certificate and an airline ticket. Supporting documentation can include a duly legalised invitation from a contact, organisation or employer in Mali.

Required documents are uploaded electronically during the application. Visa fees are then paid to the Embassy at the appointment according to the current fee schedule.
