About the Embassy of Canada to Qatar
The Canadian Embassy in Doha is Canada’s resident diplomatic mission in Qatar.
Canada and Qatar maintain growing bilateral relations covering diplomacy, trade, investment, security, education and international cooperation.
Canada opened its embassy in Qatar in 2012. The mission is headed by Karim Morcos, Ambassador of Canada to the State of Qatar.

Services at the Canadian Embassy in Doha
The embassy provides passport, citizenship, notarial and other consular services for Canadian citizens.
Passport services
Canadian citizens can book an appointment to present passport application documents in person. Passport service fees must be paid online before the application is submitted.
Citizenship services
Applicants who are required to submit a paper application for proof of Canadian citizenship can mail the application to the Consular Section of the embassy.
Notarial services
The embassy provides selected notarial services, including eligible document certification and authentication services.
Birth abroad
A child born outside Canada does not need to have the birth registered in Canada. For certain citizenship applications for newborn children, the Qatari birth certificate must first be authenticated by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Emergency assistance
Canadian citizens requiring urgent assistance can contact the embassy during business hours. Emergency consular assistance is available 24 hours a day through Canada’s Emergency Watch and Response Centre.

Consular services are currently available by appointment Sunday through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The consular section is closed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
