The Edmonton office is a career consular branch of the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver.
It is not a separate Consulate General or Honorary Consulate. Instead, it provides selected Italian consular services locally for residents of Alberta and Saskatchewan under the authority of the Vancouver Consulate General.
The office remains active. In May 2026, the Consulate General specifically referred to the public counter of the Consular Services Branch Office in Edmonton when announcing a temporary technical closure and subsequent reopening.
