The Canadian High Commission in Colombo is Canada’s resident diplomatic and consular mission in Sri Lanka.
Canada and Sri Lanka maintain longstanding relations through the Commonwealth, development cooperation, trade and strong people-to-people links.
The High Commission also represents Canada in the Maldives and provides Canadian consular services to Canadians there.

The High Commission provides passport, citizenship, notarial and other consular services to Canadians in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
Passport services
Canadian passport applicants can pay the required fees online and book an appointment to present their documents in person.
Citizenship services
Eligible paper applications for proof of Canadian citizenship can be mailed to the High Commission or deposited in the Consular Services drop box.
Notarial services
Selected notarial services are available by appointment, including witnessing signatures, administering declarations and certifying true copies.
Marriage abroad
The mission can witness signatures on a statement in lieu of a certificate of non-impediment to marriage abroad when the requirements are met.
Emergency assistance
Canadians requiring urgent assistance can contact the High Commission during business hours. Emergency consular assistance is available 24 hours a day through the Government of Canada.
Visa and immigration
Visa and immigration matters are handled through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and its official application channels.
