About the Embassy of Canada to Jordan
The Canadian Embassy in Amman is Canada’s resident diplomatic mission in Jordan and one of Canada’s larger diplomatic missions in the region.
The embassy supports Canada’s political, economic, development and security relationship with Jordan and provides Government of Canada services and consular assistance to Canadians.
The mission is headed by Louis-Martin Aumais, Ambassador of Canada to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The embassy provides passport, citizenship, notarial and other services for Canadian citizens.
Passport services
Canadian passport applications can be submitted by mail or courier, through the embassy drop-off box or in person according to the embassy’s current arrangements.
Citizenship services
Eligible paper applications for proof of Canadian citizenship can be mailed to the embassy or left in the Consular Services drop box during published hours.
Notarial services
The embassy provides selected notarial services by appointment, including eligible apostilles, certified copies, signature witnessing and statutory declarations.
Marriage abroad
The embassy can issue a statement in lieu of a certificate of non-impediment to marriage when required by local authorities. This service is provided in person and fees apply.
Emergency assistance
Canadian citizens requiring urgent help can contact the embassy during business hours. Emergency consular assistance is available 24 hours a day through Canada’s Emergency Watch and Response Centre.

General appointments are currently available Sunday through Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Consular appointments
Consular services are currently available by appointment Sunday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The consular section is closed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Passport services are currently available by appointment Sunday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Notarial services are currently available by appointment Sunday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Telephone enquiries: Consular telephone enquiries are currently available Sunday through Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Canadian passport services in Amman
The embassy accepts Canadian passport applications by mail or courier and through its secure drop-off box. Applicants can contact the consular section for instructions if an in-person service is required.

Passport applications can be sent to the Embassy of Canada at 133 Zahran Street, P.O. Box 815403, Amman 11180. A traceable method is recommended.
Use the drop-off box
Completed applications can be placed in the Consular Services drop-off box inside the embassy’s main gate Sunday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., except on public holidays.
Payment: Passport service fees must be paid online. Passports are printed in Canada, and the embassy advises applicants not to finalize travel plans until the new passport has been received.
Applicants from Iraq
Passport and citizenship applications from Iraq
The Embassy of Canada in Amman also processes Canadian passport and citizenship applications submitted by applicants in Iraq.
No trip to Jordan required
Applicants in Iraq do not need to travel to Jordan to submit routine passport or eligible paper citizenship applications.
