About the Embassy of Canada to Indonesia

The Canadian Embassy in Jakarta is Canada’s resident diplomatic mission in Indonesia.

Canada and Indonesia established formal diplomatic relations in 1952. The embassy supports Canada’s political, economic, development and people-to-people relationship with Indonesia and provides Government of Canada services to Canadians visiting or living in the region.

The Jakarta embassy also provides services to Canadians in Timor-Leste.

The embassy provides passport, citizenship, notarial and other consular services for Canadian citizens.

Passport services

Canadian passport services are available by appointment through the embassy. Applicants should follow the current Government of Canada application and payment instructions before attending.

Citizenship services

Eligible paper applications for proof of Canadian citizenship can be mailed to the embassy or dropped off in person during published weekday hours.

Notarial services

The embassy provides limited notarial services by appointment. Documents must be in English or French or accompanied by an official translation into English or French.

Marriage abroad

The embassy provides document-related assistance for certain marriage procedures in Indonesia, including eligible statutory declarations and other supporting documents.

Emergency assistance

Canadian citizens requiring urgent assistance can contact the embassy during business hours. Emergency consular assistance is available 24 hours a day through Canada’s Emergency Watch and Response Centre.

Visa and immigration

The Consular Section does not handle enquiries about Canadian immigration or visa applications. Applicants should use Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s official channels.
