About the Embassy of Canada to Russia
The Canadian Embassy in Moscow is Canada’s resident diplomatic mission in the Russian Federation.
Canada and the former Soviet Union established diplomatic relations in 1942. Canada continues to maintain an embassy in Moscow, while bilateral engagement with Russia has been significantly reduced following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The mission is headed by Alison LeClaire, Ambassador of Canada to Russia.
