About the Embassy of Canada to Portugal
The Canadian Embassy in Lisbon is Canada’s resident diplomatic mission in Portugal.
Canada and Portugal established diplomatic relations in 1952 and maintain close political, economic and people-to-people ties. A large Canadian community of Portuguese origin further strengthens relations between the two countries.
Canada and Portugal cooperate through organizations including NATO, the United Nations, the OECD, the OSCE and the World Trade Organization.
The mission is headed by Élise Racicot, Ambassador of Canada to Portugal.

General appointments are currently available Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. On Friday, appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Consular services are currently available by appointment Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Apply by mail

Book an appointment to present your passport application documents in person. Bring your online payment receipt to the appointment.
Processing time: Once a complete application is received, the embassy currently states a processing time of 20 business days, plus mailing time.
