About the Embassy of Canada to Peru
The Canadian Embassy in Lima is Canada’s resident diplomatic mission in Peru.
Canada and Peru maintain a broad relationship covering trade, investment, sustainable development, climate action, security and regional cooperation.
The Canada-Peru Free Trade Agreement and cooperation through the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership are important parts of the bilateral economic relationship.
The mission is headed by Jean-Dominique Ieraci, Ambassador of Canada to Peru.

Services at the Canadian Embassy in Lima
The embassy provides passport, citizenship, notarial and other consular services for Canadian citizens.
Passport services
Canadian passport applications can be submitted by mail, presented in person by appointment or left in a sealed envelope at the embassy guard booth.
Citizenship services
Eligible paper applications for proof of Canadian citizenship can be mailed to the embassy or left at the embassy guard booth for the Consular Section.
Notarial services
The embassy provides selected notarial services, including certified copies, statutory declarations, witnessing certain signatures and eligible authentication services.
Birth abroad
Children born in Peru must be registered with Peru’s national civil registry, RENIEC, to obtain a Peruvian birth certificate. Canadian citizenship documentation is handled separately.
Emergency assistance
Canadian citizens requiring urgent assistance can contact the embassy during business hours. Emergency consular assistance is available 24 hours a day through Canada’s Emergency Watch and Response Centre.
Visa and immigration
Applications to visit, study, work or immigrate to Canada are handled through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and its official application channels.

The embassy publishes separate appointment periods for general office business, consular services, passport services and notarial services.
General embassy appointments
General appointments are currently available Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Friday, appointments are available from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Consular appointments
Consular services are currently available by appointment Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The consular section is closed on Friday.

Passport services are currently available by appointment Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Notarial services are currently available by appointment on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Apply by mail
Completed passport applications can be mailed to the Embassy of Canada, Consular Section, Calle Bolognesi 228, Miraflores, Lima 15074.
Apply in person
Applicants can book an appointment to present their passport documents in person Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Use the embassy drop-off
Completed passport documents can also be left in a closed envelope addressed to the Consular Section / Passport Services at the embassy guard booth.
Processing time: The embassy currently states that Canadian passport applications take 20 working days to process. Passport Canada does not offer expedited passport processing outside Canada.
