Planning your visit

Consular Appointments

Most in-person consular procedures at the Embassy require an appointment.

The Consular Section currently states that it accepts appointments only for residents of the National Capital Region – Ottawa and Gatineau.

Appointments for consular procedures are in person, including appointments involving minors where personal attendance is required. Walk-in visits are not accepted for normal appointment-based procedures.

Applicants requiring two separate consular procedures should check the appointment instructions carefully, as the Embassy currently states that two different procedures require two separate appointments.

Plan well ahead: The Embassy reported in July 2026 that the approximate waiting time for a consular appointment was four months. Appointment availability can change, so check the current situation before planning travel or time-sensitive procedures.
